Hello, I'm Megan Miller, co-founder of BirdsEye VR. My partner, Gordon Allen, and I wanted to make the best out of our travels by sharing our experiences with our audience in virtual reality and 3D.

Our stay at The Darling Hotel was just the little romantic getaway we needed. The environment of this art-deco revival hotel is both luxurious and intimate, with a touch of whimsy. Once we found that The Darling won Trip Advisor's 2021 Best of the Best, which is an award of the highest recognition and is presented annually to the top 1% of businesses across select categories, there was no doubt in my mind that this was the hotel for us. After scouring various travel sites we made our booking only a few days prior to our departure from Temecula, CA.
To complement the hotel's rich history, every detail is accounted for. From the secure gated parking lot with key entry to the hassle free check in at the front desk, everything was quite pleasant. We were even able to upgrade our room after we discovered that there was a last minute cancellation. The room that we upgraded to (room #427) had easy access to the rooftop bar and restaurant; only one flight of stairs away from a handmade cocktail (score!). The in-room amenities included the cutest electric kettle with tea and coffee and a flat screen Smart TV that included YouTube and Hulu. I almost forgot to mention the bathroom! The oversized shower was probably the nicest and most spacious shower I've ever been in (besides the outdoor shower at the Villa Suite Shinjuku GranBell in Tokyo). In all honesty this may be the most photogenic building that I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. There are so many photo opportunities for capturing the best moments when staying at The Darling. Some might call it an instagram influencers dream. Every spot from the front door, to the large pool with ample space, to the side courtyard with endless possibilities for outdoor events - there is something for everyone here. Needless to say our stay at The Darling Hotel left us feeling refreshed and invigorated as we set out to explore the beauty of California National Forests for two very special occasions - my birthday and my sister's wedding in Yosemite National Park.
Whether you're planning a staycation or an epic road trip, The Darling Hotel is Visalia's most luxurious getaway with the perfect blend of luxury and whimsy. The hotel's full-service restaurant, Elderwood, serves upscale comfort food in a beautiful setting that overlooks downtown Visalia. This family-friendly establishment was a pleasant surprise! We were greeted by a very hospitable staff and could not have been happier with our experience here. My mother even asked me to come back for Mother's Day brunch next year! The rooftop bar is a must-see with the best views of the city from its perch atop one of Visalia's historic buildings. At The Darling Hotel, you can get the best of both worlds.
